Brussels, July 2025 — The European Aikido Federation (EAF) has passed Resolution 01/2025, introducing a standardized certification process for Aikido instructors across Europe. The new European Aikido Instructor Certificate (EAIC) aims to ensure consistent teaching quality, promote instructor mobility, and enhance educational practices.
📌 Unified Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the EAIC, applicants must:
Be nominated by a Full Member national organization.
Hold at least a 2nd dan rank, certified by the Aikikai Hombu Dojo and validated by Aikido Doshu.
Possess an instructor qualification of at least fukushidoin level (or equivalent).
Complete the SkillAiPlus train-the-trainer module, a digital program promoting anti-bullying and pedagogical tools.
📅 Launch Date for Application Portal
The EAF will open the official certification portal by 1 September 2025.
🧳 Cross-Border Recognition
All national federations are encouraged to recognize the EAIC for seminars, grading panels, and teaching roles—streamlining cross-border cooperation.
🚨 Ethics Enforcement
Certificates may be suspended for ethical violations, based on SkillAiPlus principles.
